Tucked away behind the nationally renowned Congressional Country Club, its namesake Country Club Drive is one of Bethesda’s most prestigious streets, with just 26 estate homes set along sweeping, picturesque curves. Set far back from the street on a verdant two-acre lot, this quintessential custom-built residence was originally constructed for its discerning owner.
Approached by an elegant circular driveway, the white brick and siding façade, capped by a synthetic slate roof, evokes classic New England colonial architecture and an enduring sense of quiet luxury. A portico entry and mahogany front door framed by transom windows open to a gracious foyer with a grand staircase.
Formal living and dining rooms flank the reception hall in a traditional center hall layout. Each is generously scaled for entertaining and features one of the home’s six fireplaces. The dining room includes built-in china displays, while the living room flows into a richly paneled library with its own fireplace, connecting seamlessly to the family room. Bathed in natural light from double French doors, the family room features a coffered ceiling and stone fireplace, adding warmth and intimacy.
At the heart of the home is a chef’s kitchen, reimagined by Jack Rosen Custom Kitchens to blend beauty and function. White shaker cabinetry contrasts with dark hardwood floors, while a honed Carrara marble island pairs elegantly with leathered granite perimeter counters. A custom stainless-steel hood anchors the space, complemented by a full suite of Wolf and SubZero appliances. The butler’s pantry features glass-front cabinetry and a wine fridge, linking to the dining room. A sunlit breakfast room with cathedral ceiling and an adjoining keeping room bring the outdoors in. A mudroom and full bath complete the main level.
The upper level features a private primary suite wing with a covered terrace, sitting room, and breakfast bar tucked behind French doors. The spa-like bath includes a soaking tub, and the dressing room offers extensive custom built-ins. Four additional bedrooms and three baths complete this level, while a top-level loft provides flexible space.
The lower level is designed for entertaining, with a recreation room featuring a wet bar and screening area, along with a fireplace-adorned office, fitness center, bedroom, and full bath.
Resort-style grounds include a screened porch opening to a flagstone patio with fire pit and grilling station, a heated pool with automatic cover, and a two-level guest house. Expansive lawns, mature trees, and curated landscaping create a private retreat.
Proximate to top-rated public and private schools, lush parks, and scenic byways the residence offers an unmatched combination of elegance, comfort, and livability in a setting that feels worlds away yet is moments from the heart of Bethesda. Impeccably designed, meticulously updated, and beautifully sited, 8509 Country Club Drive represents one of Bethesda’s finest offerings in an extraordinary home exemplifying timeless luxury.

Surrounded by a perimeter of mature forest including evergreens and accessed through a formal gate, Arbor Aves is a Stone Manor estate positioned on one of Northside Haverford’s most coveted and quiet lanes. The front façade combines extraordinary stone and brickwork in a composition of enduring elegance, while the rear elevation, accented with board and batten details, is breathtaking in its symmetry and scale. Framed by gardens and hardscaping designed by Chuck Hess, the light-stone terraces, resort-quality vanishing-edge pool with perimeter overflow, spa, fire-pit, and a fully equipped outdoor kitchen with stainless steel grill create a setting where everyday living feels like a retreat.

A front-to-rear center hall with inlaid stone floors, and a sitting nook sets a tone of refinement the moment you enter. The living room combines architectural balance with warmth, featuring a fireplace, abundant natural light from 2 exposures, and a charming front window nook that invites reading, conversation, or quiet reflection. The dining room is enriched with ceiling moldings, a cushioned window seat, and ornamental fireplace, while the library offers finely crafted millwork and the solarium glows with wrap-around windows and honed slate flooring. Throughout the main living areas, hardwood floors of white oak—aligned with today’s design preferences—underscore the home’s sophisticated yet timeless palette. Five fireplaces are placed across the home’s 4 finished levels, blending architectural beauty with comfort.

At the heart of the residence, the Clive Christian kitchen is a showpiece of honey-toned cabinetry, polished Calacatta Gold marble, and professional La Cornue range, anchored by an island with seating for 4. The adjoining breakfast room, crowned by a soaring 12-foot ceiling, overlooks the gardens and flows to the family room, where a fireplace and custom shelving invite gathering. Thoughtful design touches abound: a walk-in pantry with Thermadore wine storage and direct inside access to the garage simplifies unloading groceries, while a “command center” with built-in desk, cabinetry, and shelving provides a practical hub for household management. Crestron automation makes listening to music or controlling lighting and HVAC a breeze.

The primary suite is a retreat of extraordinary scale and comfort, complete with a private sitting room and fireplace, a beverage center, dishwasher, 2 fully customized walk-in closets, and dual spa-like onyx baths with soaking tub, slab counters, and shared double-sided shower. A 2nd-floor landing introduces another architectural moment—a cozy sitting nook with custom shelving and a window overlooking the front courtyard, creating a quiet retreat above the main foyer. Five additional en-suite bedrooms complete the family level, while the 3rd floor provides flexible space or an in-law suite with living room, generous bedroom suite with full bath, walk in closet, cedar closet, and additional storage.

The finished lower level is designed for recreation and entertaining, with a professional gym, state-of-the-art theater, walk-in wine cellar, and full wet bar with large island for entertaining, full size dishwasher, refrigeration and cabinetry. Two full bathrooms serve this level: one positioned as a dedicated poolside cabana with changing area and direct access to the gardens, the other adjacent to the exercise room. Every space has been crafted with the same level of finish found throughout the home. An elevator serves all 4 levels.

Green features—cedar shake roof, Pella Architectural Series windows, blown-in insulation, Energy Star HVAC, permeable pavers, and water-saving fixtures—demonstrate the home’s thoughtful design and efficiency.

Arbor Aves is more than a residence; it is an experience. Morning light fills the whole rear expanse, spend mornings or afternoons around the infinity pool or in the theater, and evenings draw family, friends to the terraces,

Woodbourne Estate, circa 1810, is a National and Virginia registered historic landmark set on 53 acres in Madison County, less than 90 miles from Washington, D.C. Nestled in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, the property combines two extraordinary elements: the award-winning Bald Top Brewing Company and the beautifully restored Woodbourne Manor. Together they create a rare chance to acquire a profitable, highly regarded brewery and hospitality business within a historic and scenic estate.

At the top of the hill sits Bald Top Brewing Company, Virginia’s first historic farm brewery and a beloved destination for locals and travelers alike. Known for its rustic farm ambiance, scenic outdoor seating, and family-friendly atmosphere, Bald Top offers a wide variety of craft beers and wines from around the world, to be savored with hand-tossed, wood-fired pizza, farm ingredients and more from its full service, onsite restaurant, “Scratch.”

Unique to this property are its transferable licenses and special use permits which allow the new owners to enjoy income on day one, avoiding the lengthy, and often denied approval processes required for unestablished business. Committed staff, proven processes, recipes, social following, trademarks, and know-how convey to the new owners. Permits allow Bald Top to seamlessly continue to host brewery and restaurant guests, weddings, private parties, outdoor music events and more onsite to great acclaim. Guests consistently praise its welcoming vibe and flavorful brews, while excellent Google reviews and a loyal following underscore the strength of the brand.

Just a short stroll from the brewery lies the historic Woodbourne Manor. This elegant circa-1810 home has been meticulously restored and now serves as luxurious guest accommodations. Rented exclusively to one group at a time for up to 10 guests, the Manor offers total privacy within its gardens and tree-lined grounds. Guests enjoy access to a heated saltwater pool, hot tub, patios, porches, BBQ deck, fire pit, and garden gazebo. Many describe their stays as peaceful, exclusive, and unforgettable. The Manor is currently under-rented, leaving significant growth potential through higher nightly rates, expanded bookings, and the untapped wedding and events market.

Together, Bald Top Brewing Company and Woodbourne Manor create a truly unique lifestyle and business opportunity. With transferable licenses, profitable operations, and the winning combination of an exceptional track record coupled with high growth potential, this offering delivers the best of both worlds: the energy of an award-winning, thriving brewery paired with the bucolic charm, beauty, and exclusivity of a historic estate.

Although Washington DC, generally, and Georgetown, specifically, are steeped in American architectural history, opportunities to own, occupy and steward historically significant homes in this neighborhood are rare. Today, many qualifying homes have been put in the hands of not-for-profit institutions, turned into ambassadorial residences or other such official properties, or have been tragically lost to history. 1537 28th St is a once-in-a-generation opportunity to acquire a grand and elegant residence in the “east village” of Georgetown. The home was built in 1867 by and for Thomas Hyde, whose family retained ownership until about 1930. After the Hyde’s tenure in the home, it was owned by the family of William Taylor. Taylor hired noted Washington, DC architect Rose Greely to expand and remodel the home and gardens – a design for which she was awarded a prize in 1940, just after which the home was sold to its most notable owner. Robert Woods Bliss and his wife Mildred acquired the residence in 1940 after donating their prior home, Dumbarton Oaks, to Harvard University. As Dumbarton Oaks is widely regarded as one of the finest homes in all of Washington, it was noteworthy for them to choose 1537 28th as their new and final home. On account of their ownership, which lasted through 1969, the home is colloquially known around Georgetown as the "Robert Woods Bliss House" or just “The Bliss House”. It is likely the unusually grand size and scale of the rooms – a notable feature of their prior property – that attracted Ambassador and Mrs. Bliss to the home. The main level features nearly 12’ ceilings that present an architectural harmony that is rarely seen in Washington’s homes. The scale is more typical of the “Gilded Age” homes of the Northeast or even Europe, but the intimacy that is lost in those homes is preserved on 28th St. To create a grand space that retains intimacy and elegance is a feat of architectural design that must be lauded. Upon entering, a well-proportioned entry foyer leads you to an enfilade with a central hall, off of which are the main level’s three principal rooms and grand stair hall. The office, formal DR with wood burning fireplace, and formal LR that also features a wood burning fireplace, reach the corners of the home and are each able to be closed behind grand mahogany doors. The millwork and moldings are elegant, fitting, and perfectly preserved. A kitchen with a very large and unusual-for-Georgetown family room with a third fireplace (gas) offers private family space in the northeast corner of the home, and its two sides of Palladian-style fenestration also offer access to the rear garden and swimming pool, and a private service entrance off of Q St. The second level, which is accessed by both the grand “public” stair hall boasting a tasteful brass lantern chandelier and a “private” rear stair hall, presents four BRs, all with en-suite bathrooms. The master BR is the largest of the four, with a sizable en-suite bath feature marble and high quality fixtures, as well as a walk-in closet. Two additional BRs w/en suite BAs flank the upper level landing. The fourth BR on the second level was envisioned as a maid’s suite, offering a BA, small living room, and kitchenette. The suite can be used cohesively with the whole house, but can also be cordoned off and used autonomously. Finally, off of the landing is an additional staircase that leads to a fifth BR, en-suite BA, and ample storage including a cedar closet for off-season clothing storage. Usually an area of Georgetown homes that sees little use, the lowest level of the home is different. Only partially below-grade and with high ceilings, a huge yet cozy recreation room with exposed brick walls features the homes fifth fireplace and a row of glass-paned French doors providing access to the rear garden and swimming pool. Additional features are a large wine cellar, massive storage and utility rooms & parking.

Originally constructed in 1959 and masterfully completed in 2014 following Paul Rudolph’s original architectural vision, The Fullam House stands today as a fully realized and enduring work of design, where historic integrity and modern refinement exist in perfect balance. The completion earned the prestigious AIA Bucks County Design Award for Excellence, recognizing the seamless integration of original architecture with thoughtful modern enhancements.
Conceived by Paul Rudolph, one of the most celebrated architects of the 20th century and former Chair of Architecture at Yale University, this extraordinary residence represents a rare and deeply personal work created during a pivotal moment in his ascent to international prominence. Known for his bold experimentation, sculptural forms, and leadership in the modernist movement, Rudolph’s work helped redefine American architecture in the postwar era.
Created for Judge John Fullam and his wife Alice, the home was born from a lifelong friendship that began during their years at Harvard. This was not a speculative project, but a deeply personal collaboration, where Rudolph was given creative freedom to explore new architectural ideas beyond his well-known Florida works.
At the request of the Fullam family, the home was intentionally never published during Rudolph’s lifetime, remaining an unpublished architectural work thoughtfully situated within the Bucks County landscape for decades. This allowed Rudolph to experiment with evolving concepts, including the interplay of mass and void, sculptural geometry, and environmental responsiveness, resulting in a design both ahead of its time and deeply connected to its surroundings.
Set on over 26 private acres, the property is seamlessly integrated into its natural environment, nestled into the hillside and overlooking a dramatic ravine. Constructed with Pennsylvania fieldstone, the residence reflects both Rudolph’s modernist philosophy and a nod to the local Bucks County vernacular.
Architecturally, the home is a study in light, structure, and spatial experience. A central open living pavilion forms the heart of the residence, flanked by private wings, creating a deliberate separation between public and private spaces. Floor-to-ceiling window walls, clerestory glass, and a distinctive floating roofline allow natural light to move dynamically throughout the home while framing uninterrupted views of the surrounding landscape.
Rudolph’s forward-thinking approach to environmental design is evident throughout. The sculptural roofline is both visually striking and functional, designed to block high summer sun while allowing winter light to penetrate deeply into the home, naturally warming the thick stone walls which then radiate heat into the space.
Inside, the residence offers approximately 3,500+ square feet, including 4 bedrooms and 3.5 baths, with living spaces that feel both expansive and intimate. The interplay of stone, glass, and wood creates a tactile richness, while the home’s multi-level design provides a unique spatial experience.
The 2014 completion faithfully realized Rudolph’s original intent while integrating modern systems and efficiencies. Surrounded by complete privacy, yet within close proximity to New Hope, Princeton, and major metropolitan areas, The Fullam House offers a rare convergence of architectural pedigree, historical significance, and modern livability.

This offering consists of approximately 777± contiguous acres across multiple tax parcels, featuring a unique blend of productive farmland, mature timber, mountain land, historic improvements, and approximately one mile of Clarks Creek frontage.
The property includes four residential dwellings, all currently rented. The main house located at 1231 Clarks Valley Rd is a substantial historic structure with multiple wings; the west wing ( 3 bedrooms, 2.5 baths) is rented, while the center and east wings (approximately 6 bedrooms, 3 full baths, and 2 half baths) are retained by ownership. Two of the homes include barns. Additional residences include the farmhouse at 1241 Clarks Valley Road (3 bedrooms, 1 full and 1 half bath), the Woody House at 1061 Clarks Valley Road (3 bedrooms, 1 full and 1 half bath), and the Spring House at 1250 Whitetail Lane (3 bedrooms, 2 full baths).
Beyond the residences, the property is richly improved with extensive agricultural and historic outbuildings, including approximately 12 stables, barns, an ice house, milk shed, chicken coop, workshop, silo, tractor shed, and additional support structures that reflect the property’s long agricultural heritage.
Land use is diversified and income-producing, with residential leases, farming leases, and hunting leases. The hunting leases are annual and expire June 1, 2026: the residential leases are month-to-month; the agriculture lease is partway through a five-year term and expire December 31, 2028. Portions of the forested acreage are managed under a Silviculture Plan, supporting long-term stewardship and sustainability.
Flemish Down has been held by the same family for generations, with roots dating back over a century. Historically, portions of the original holdings have been conveyed to conservation organizations and public agencies, including lands now associated with State Game Lands, public conservation, and the Appalachian Trail corridor, underscoring the property’s environmental and regional significance.
This offering may appeal to conservation-minded buyers, family real estate trusts, timber companies, and public or quasi-public entities seeking large-scale land acquisition. Marketing will include exposure in the local MLS, commercial real estate platforms, and targeted outreach to qualified private and institutional buyers.
Property consists of multiple parcels with varying characteristics, improvements, and encumbrances. Buyers are encouraged to conduct full due diligence regarding acreage, boundaries, leases, and land use restrictions. Shown by appointment only. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO ACCESS ANY PORTION OF THE PROPERTY WITHOUT AN APPROVED APPOINTMENT.
